Here’s our saga. The 5 good reasons to follow a match (with some adaptations). We’ll take a look at what’s attractive before each match, with a mix of seriousness and humor. Mind you, this is by no means an exhaustive tour of the subject. We continue here with Paris Saint-Germain’s match this Friday against Nice (5th) at the Parc des Princes as part of the 31st day of Ligue 1 2024-2025 (kick-off 8.45pm, CET).
5 – Any more points to score?
There’s a “type-team” emerging for the Champions League, but coach Luis Enrique never puts competition aside. Some players may still have minutes to win in this match. Hopefully, this will provide some motivation ahead of next Tuesday’s semi-final first leg against Arsenal. There’s no room for complacency.
4- The return of attacking play in Ligue 1, at last!
With Angers, Le Havre and Nantes, PSG have been playing against low blocks in Ligue 1. With Nice, a 3-4-3 that tends to press high up the pitch, we could see a return to a slightly more intense and open game.
Good news for the spectacle. But also for Paris, with an intensity that could help them get back into the swing of things before the Champions League.
3 – Last rehearsal before Arsenal.
We have great respect for Nice and this match could be very pleasant, but it’s impossible not to think about Arsenal. So we’ll be keeping an eye on certain choices with a view to the Champions League semi-final, but also on the form of the players and the team as a whole.
Even if we know that the context will be different and that we need to take a step back from the lessons we’ve learned. All the same, we’re hoping for a good performance, so that we can arrive at the tournament with full confidence.
2 – The race for Europe.
There are plenty of elements on the PSG side, of course, since we’re somewhat influenced by our passion for the Parisian club. But there’s Nice on the other side of the field, and a lot at stake: a very intense race for Europe in Ligue 1. So we’re counting on Nice to be highly motivated. The pace is set.
1 – History in sight.
Heading for the Champions League, but not only. PSG can also make history in Ligue 1. There’s invincibility over a season, as well as total points or goals scored, for example. Let’s hope that the Parisians can continue to progress, especially when it comes to finishing the year without losing. It’s the kind of performance that leaves a lasting impression.
