The 2025 summer mercato isn’t open yet, of course, but it’s already underway, so rumors about Paris Saint-Germain still arrive from time to time. This time, PSG Inside Actus is optimistic about Gianluigi Donnarumma (26-year-old goalkeeper under contract until 2026) and Fabian Ruiz (29-year-old midfielder under contract until 2027).
“Paris Saint-Germain continue to prepare their future behind the scenes, and two major projects are well underway: the extensions of Fabian Ruiz and Gianluigi Donnarumma.
As the end of the season approaches, with a Champions League final on the horizon, the club is keen to lock up some of its key players before the summer – and ideally before the Club World Cup.”
It’s far too early to be certain. These are just rumours. But it seems possible to be fairly confident. All the media agree on the trend towards an extension in these two cases. This is all the more true for Donnarumma, who regularly repeats his desire to sign a new contract.
But there’s nothing done yet, so we’ll have to wait and see. The PSG mercato is, of course, in preparation, with a number of extensions and departures. Which should remain behind the scenes until the Champions League final against Inter Milan on May 31. That’s what everyone needs to focus on.
Then there’s the first part of the mercato before the Club World Cup, which kicks off in mid-June.
