Froya Dorsin, the 18-year-old striker who signed for Paris Saint-Germain last summer, officially extended her contract on Monday until 2028. She spoke to PSG TV on the occasion of the signing.
Dorsin “It’s always a pleasure to represent this team.”
How would you describe your integration into the PSG team ?
First of all, it’s an extraordinary group of players. I arrived at the age of 17 and of course that’s a bit scary. But these are incredible people and I’ve spent some exceptional months here. So I want to stay here longer.
What does PSG mean to you ?
The club means a lot to me, even though I’ve only been here a few months. Of course, every time you put on the shirt and go out on to the pitch, you feel a little something extra, with the PSG logo. It’s always a pleasure to represent this team.
What’s it been like this year ?
I arrived when I was 17, and I’d always been at home, so it was a big step to move out on my own. On the pitch, I also feel like I’ve taken big steps that I wouldn’t have done at home. You have to give 100% at every training session, because there are some exceptional players out there. So I’m improving.
What are your ambitions for next season ?
We’re going to start next season with the Champions League, which has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. I’m going to do it at the age of 18, which is incredible. We want to win the domestic titles and move on to the Champions League. I hope to score a lot to help the team.
Dorsin “I’ll be back next season with more goals.”
Did you think you’d be able to reach the very highest level of soccer?
You always hope. I’ve been playing soccer since I could walk (smile). My family has always done a lot of sport, especially soccer. My father was a player. We’ve always played. We’ve improved.
You can see potential and think that maybe as a player you could join a big club like PSG. When my agent said there was interest, I was very happy.
A moment for the fans?
I’d like to thank them for all their support during the season, and I’ll be back next season with more goals. We’ll be bringing home trophies for you.
