Luis Campos arrived at Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022, replacing sporting director Leonardo, but with a special role as “soccer advisor”. His track record has been a regular topic of debate, and rumours of a departure have been circulating for months, along with those of a contract extension. L’Equipe claims that this has now been settled.
“Luis Campos will even see his prerogatives extended in a role that will go beyond that of Paris Saint-Germain.”
“Luis Campos and the club’s top management, led by Nasser Al-Khélaïfi have reached an agreement for the Portuguese’s extension. The PSG sports consultant will therefore continue his mission at the head of the sporting sector for the next few years. Luis Campos has signed a long-term contract, longer than his first three years.
Luis Campos will even see his prerogatives extended in a role that will go beyond that of Paris Saint-Germain. The former sporting director of Lille and Monaco will now work for all the needs of QSI, the club’s majority shareholder.”
A credible announcement, since it makes sense that PSG would want to continue with Luis Campos. He has been much criticized, but we can see today that he has built up a very fine squad. All the more so as he is in line with coach Luis Enrique’s project. Today, it seems that Paris is working well together.
Campos could be thinking about a new project, that’s bound to happen. But there are still great things to come, especially if his role is extended within QSI. With, of course, PSG among the main targets.
Let’s wait for an official confirmation, however, as this dossier has been marked by numerous twists and turns.
