Having arrived at the summer mercato in July 2023 from Mallorca, Lee Kang-In, the 23-year-old Korean midfielder, is under contract at Paris Saint-Germain until June 2028, and is playing more in the 2024-2025 season than in his irregular first season. But that’s not quite convincing everyone, which is why rumors are swirling around the mercato. On Tuesday, the idea of a departure was confirmed by journalist Abdellah Boulma.
“Despite a contract running until 2028, Lee Kang-in’s future at PSG remains uncertain. The club remains open to a departure, and his situation is being closely monitored by several European and Gulf teams.”
An announcement which confirms that of Matteo Moretto (Relevo) a few hours earlier and the general feeling. Lee’s departure is entirely credible. Especially after his absence from Saturday’s Coupe de France final against Reims (3-0).
We’re sure that Paris can think of a player who’s more established in its squad, and that the Korean might be tempted by a more important role. However, there are only rumours at the moment and no official confirmation. Even less a clear exit door or a price.
A possible deal is still a long way off, and we shouldn’t be too quick to jump to conclusions. Soccer can surprise, so let’s wait and see.
