After arriving at Paris Saint-Germain in 2023 from Benfica, 23-year-old striker Gonçalo Ramos endured a difficult period of adaptation (with a major illness in December 2023) and an injury in the first half of the 2024-2025 season. Although there has been some improvement since then, he hasn’t fully established himself and rumours are swirling. On Tuesday, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported a strong interest from Juventus Turin.
A price tag of around €50 million?
“In recent hours, Gonçalo Ramos has been on Juventus’ radar. In France, he is considered a reliable player for Paris Saint-Germain, fresh winners of the Champions League. His salary in France is lower than that of Kolo Muani.
The price could be lower than Sporting Lisbon’s demands for Gyökeres and slightly higher than that envisaged for Atalanta’s Retegui. PSG bought him on loan from Benfica in the summer of 2023 and paid €65 million for him after six months on loan. Given his limited use, the French capital could ask for an amount of around 50 million, to be refined during the negotiation phase.”
Mind you, these are still just rumours, which unsurprisingly multiply at this time of year. With the mercato barely underway, it’s time for statements in all directions. With Gonçalo Ramos in a role that doesn’t really match his potential, a departure is conceivable and so is interest. Various announcements are therefore expected.
But we’ll have to wait for confirmation before we’re in the clear. For the moment, there’s nothing to say that PSG are selling or that the striker will seek to leave rather than fight for more playing time.
Certain clubs are undoubtedly interested and will probably make enquiries. Let’s wait and see where this leads. The rumoured price of 50 million euros is simply a newspaper estimate that has no solid basis. Maybe it could be around that amount, you never know. But nothing is certain.
