Paris Saint-Germain secured their place in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup this Wednesday against Real Madrid (kick-off 9pm, broadcast on DAZN), thanks to their 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich on Saturday. A success that will bring in even more revenue, and reach an already very attractive amount. L’Equipe reports on Monday.
And there’s more to get…
“The winnings allocated to the clubs are divided into two categories: participation winnings and performance winnings. In terms of participation, PSG should have received around €26.7 million. Next come the performance gains.
In the group phase, thanks to its two victories – over Atlético (4-0) and Seattle (2-0) – PSG earned €3.4 million. Their qualification for the last 16, after finishing top of their group, earned them no less than €6.4m. Victory over Inter Miami in the Round of 8 (4-0) brought in a further €11.2m, to which must be added €17.9m after Saturday’s 2-0 win over Bayern Munich. In total, at this stage of the competition, PSG has therefore earned around €65.6 million.”
It’s already a financially gratifying journey, in addition to the sporting aspect of course. And PSG could continue to shine while filling its coffers. There’s talk of a bonus of over 20 million euros for a place in the final. Not to mention the development of the club’s image and the possible interest of sponsors.
From this point of view, the Club World Cup is undoubtedly a success, at least for Paris. Let’s hope it continues with another great performance this Wednesday against Madrid.
