Rodolfo Odrie, Fabian Ruiz’s agent, was asked by L’Equipe to comment on his possible place in the race for the Ballon d’Or 2025. He had some strong words to say about the 28-year-old Paris Saint-Germain and Spain midfielder.
“It would be unfair not to think of him”.
“It would be justified. He’s won almost every competition he’s played in over the last two years. With PSG, he’s won everything. He’s an indisputable starter for club and country, with a very high level of performance and irreproachable individual behavior.
I know that with his personality, the fact that he doesn’t like to put himself forward, he doesn’t always get the consideration he should, but it would be unfair not to think of him, given everything he’s achieved.”
Fabian Ruiz has come a long way, particularly in France, where he has been much maligned for his performances with PSG. Now, after several months at a very high level as part of an impressive team, some people are finally realizing that he is a great player.
The Spaniard, on the other hand, is barely mentioned when it comes to the Ballon d’Or, which is more likely to go to Ousmane Dembélé (28-year-old striker) in France. However, some people are thinking of Achraf Hakimi (26-year-old right-back). No doubt the idea of Ruiz winning the trophy would be hard to take.
However, his agent, who logically does his own publicity given his role, has words to say. Ruiz has put in one performance after another at an immense level. He’s part of this exceptional team, where everyone has a say in who the best player is. They all have important and different roles.
But it’s already great that a player who is indisputable with Spain, and who was voted best player at Euro 2024, is finally recognized as a great footballer in France.
