Paris Saint-Germain played the European Super Cup against Tottenham this Wednesday (2-2, 4-3 on penalties). Speaking to PSG TV, 22-year-old Parisian striker Bradley Barcola reflected on the victory, which came after another comeback in the final minutes of the match.
Barcola: “We can only be happy tonight”
“We started off pretty badly with those two goals, but we were able to pick ourselves up and show our character by coming back from the deadlock and during the penalty shootout. We can only be happy tonight. The fans were already behind us, which was great.
We didn’t think there would be so many of them, but their support has really made us happy throughout the season, and once again, it can only motivate us to win matches.”
A match that ended in suspense for PSG, who managed to turn things around despite six days of preparation. From the very first minutes of play, it was clear that there was a significant gap between the two teams in terms of form and preparation.
Obviously, trailing 2-0 in the 80th minute, it was difficult to imagine this Parisian team coming back. But this 2025 version of PSG is underestimated; they are capable of anything, as they have proven once again. This makes them the first French club to win the Champions League and the Super Cup, thus taking another step forward in history.
