Marco Asensio, the 29-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder/forward under contract until 2026, has failed to fully establish himself under coach Luis Enrique. He has therefore been loaned to Aston Villa for the second half of the 2024-25 season. The English club is now working on a permanent transfer. Caught Offside claims that one is taking shape, while the Spaniard has already agreed.
Aston Villa have already reached an agreement with Asensio on a three-year contract, demonstrating their long-term commitment to the player.
Aston Villa are on the brink of securing the permanent signing of Marco Asensio from Paris Saint-Germain, with the Premier League club preparing an offer worth up to €15 million.“
A rather credible report, at least other media outlets have already mentioned Aston Villa’s desire to bring Asensio in. Coach Unai Emery would particularly appreciate him. Nothing impossible, since he’s a talented player who has lacked a bit of consistency. But there may be hope of helping him regain some consistency.
Especially since the price isn’t very high, as he no longer has a place at PSG and he arrived on a free transfer. This limits the risk. As for the Spaniard, he’s a nice possible exit, and there’s not much in the pipeline. Be careful, though, as a full agreement isn’t guaranteed, and the transfer window can be full of surprises.
