Renato Sanches, the 28-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder under contract until 2027, has just returned from a season on loan with an option to buy at Benfica Lisbon. It was another mixed season due to physical problems. We now await news of his future, with Panathinaikos recently being discussed. The newspaper Gazzetta (Greek version) confirms that his arrival is expected this evening.
“Renato Sanches is expected to arrive in Athens this evening, landing at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport at 9:20 PM, to finalize his transfer to Panathinaikos and sign his contract.”
There’s no longer any real doubt about the agreement reached, since all the media are pointing in the same direction. We’re still wary of surprises, though, because they sometimes move a little too quickly. And a twist is possible as long as it’s not signed. But we can certainly hope that PSG has found a solution for Sanches this season. Ideally, he’ll manage to play a string of matches, and things will be easier next summer.
