This Friday, as part of Matchday 2 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain faced Angers at the Parc des Princes. Haris Belkebla, the 31-year-old midfielder for the Angers team, spoke to Ligue 1+ after Paris’s 1-0 victory. He spoke of a painful situation with 0 points, despite some positive performances.
Belkebla: “We saw some great players.”
You were able to hold on, and it was their talent that made the difference, and there’s not much we can do about it?
Yes, of course. We all know the technical quality of a team like PSG. Physically, I think we prepared well, and in that respect, we’re pretty ready. It comes down to details, as we know the type of team they are, and unfortunately, we gave up at the end. We conceded that goal. We saw some great values from our side tonight.
Belkebla: “It’s difficult to come back.”
Was it really unplayable, or did you feel it was possible?
We told ourselves we had to stay in the match as long as possible. The longer we can stay tied, the more likely it is. But unfortunately, we cracked, and once that happens, it’s difficult to come back because they still have control of the ball, possession, and of course, we didn’t have much to show for it. We should have not conceded a goal to have any hope of having anything.
Is it an encouraging defeat?
We have 0 points, so it’s hard to say. We saw some great values, a united team that doesn’t give up until the end, and that’s what we’ll have to build on.
