On Friday at the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain won the second matchday of Ligue 1 2025-2026 against Angers by a score of 1-0. We then asked our readers, as we do after every match from now on, to vote for the best Parisian of the match. Fabian Ruiz (29-year-old midfielder) won.
It was no big surprise for Ruiz, who was invaluable in the game and (especially) scored the winning goal. In this strong team, picking out a player can be very difficult. Decisive individual actions inevitably play a role in such a vote. It’s hard to top the Spaniard, especially given the ineffectiveness of his teammates.
Including Ousmane Dembélé, the 28-year-old striker who notably missed a penalty. We didn’t expect him to be on the podium, but he created chances. And it’s a unique podium with many players, a sign of a team where it’s difficult to separate the players.
