Marco Asensio, the 29-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder/forward under contract until 2026, has failed to fully establish himself under coach Luis Enrique. He was subsequently loaned to Aston Villa for the second half of the 2024-25 season, but was not retained by the English club. He could ultimately return on a permanent transfer. Journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed this trend this Friday.
There is good hope for a transfer for Asensio today, as he seemed stuck after the collapse of the Fenerbahçe deal during the transfer window. With only one year left on his contract, Paris desperately needs a sale this summer if they hope to recoup a significant sum. This is still possible thanks to his rather good run at Aston Villa and the fear of potential competition for a signing at the end of his contract. However, nothing is certain for the moment. Let’s hope for something concrete soon.
