Marco Asensio, the 29-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder/forward under contract until 2026, has failed to fully establish himself under coach Luis Enrique. He was subsequently loaned to Aston Villa for the second half of the 2024-25 season, but was not retained by the English club. He could ultimately return on a permanent transfer. Several media outlets are now reporting that the Spaniard is finally heading to Fenerbahçe, where he had been rumored.

Several generally reliable sources have agreed in a short time, which is quite interesting. Not enough yet for certainty, but enough to hope that the transfer is indeed moving forward and fairly quickly. Let’s hope there won’t be another twist, as there was already talk of Asensio’s very close transfer to Fenerbahçe several weeks ago.
