This week saw the first matchday of the group stage of the 2025-2026 Champions League. UEFA is currently running various fan voting polls. Paris Saint-Germain, who won 4-0 against Atalanta at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday, had no players selected in UEFA’s team of the week.
This is somewhat surprising, as PSG delivered an impressive team performance with several players standing out. In particular, Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia were all excellent. However, there is strong competition in this competition, and perhaps Atalanta wasn’t considered a sufficiently strong opponent. In any case, this team of the week is purely an honorific selection.
