For several years, there have been discussions about a project to create an NBA (basketball) league in Europe, bringing together several major clubs from the continent. Paris Saint-Germain is expected to be part of it. This was confirmed on Tuesday in Le Parisien.
“The creation of an NBA league in Europe with major multi-sport clubs from the continent is now a certainty. It should begin in 2027 with the participation of a Parisian franchise, almost certainly under the PSG banner.”
With the NBA coming to Europe with a new league, it was inconceivable that Paris wouldn’t be involved, given the city’s image worldwide, and particularly in the United States. This is a country where PSG has also developed a strong presence.
This will further contribute to that, with a major sport in which the Parisian club will now be represented. While we await the details, such as a possible link between the “traditional” NBA in the United States and the European league, or the exact role of this Parisian franchise within PSG, the idea is clearly to build something together.
