Here’s our saga. The 5 good reasons to follow a match (with some adaptations sometimes). We’ll revisit the attractive features before each match with a mix of seriousness and humor. Please note, this is not an exhaustive overview. We continue here with the match between Paris Saint-Germain (1st) this Tuesday against Bayern Munich (2nd) at the Parc des Princes on Matchday 4 of the 2025-2026 Champions League (kick-off 9 p.m., CET).
5 – The return of the “magic trio”?
Vitinha (25 years old) will start, as will João Neves (21 years old). Fabian Ruiz (29 years old), who played 30 minutes against Nice on Saturday, remains a doubt. This would mark the return of the midfield trio that shone so brightly last season. Even if they aren’t at 100%, we know they’re a strong contender against Bayern Munich.
Good news: Warren Zaïre-Emery (19 years old) has been in good form lately. We could almost call it a quartet. But the young Parisian needs to prove himself in this match, whether as a starter or a substitute. He will undoubtedly get playing time.
4 – Mayulu steps up to the big leagues.
Senny Mayulu (19 years old) should also play, benefiting in particular from the fact that Ousmane Dembélé (28-year-old forward) is likely to struggle to play the full match. The youngster is even being touted in the press as the starting false 9. Another opportunity to prove that he has now established himself among the greats, as against FC Barcelona.
3 – First place at stake.
These two teams are among those that have won the first three matches (along with Arsenal, Inter Milan, and Real Madrid) and, thanks to goal difference, are in the top two places. The winner can therefore occupy first place again, and even ward off a serious contender for the top 8. It’s important to qualify as quickly as possible and be ranked as high as possible to host the playoffs.
2 – Two teams at the top in 2025.
PSG and Bayern Munich have clear offensive ideas, impressive attacks, and above-average playing quality. They are some of the best teams in the world in recent months (we’ll avoid precise rankings and endless debate). We expect a high level of performance and goals. The World Cup match this summer was already exciting, despite the fatigue and a less than desirable competition.
1 – There’s hardly anything better.
We feel we’ve already presented this very high-level match well, and we hope not to disappoint anyone. However, it’s hard not to be excited about such a match. Otherwise, what more could we expect? All that’s missing is for it to be decisive, with the playoffs, or even a final.
Here, even if it’s important for the standings, there are other matches and a whole standings to play for. But it’s still difficult to find a more enticing football match this season.
