Among the various football ceremonies and awards, FIFA, in collaboration with the FIFPro (the international players’ union), organizes the Team of the Year vote for the previous season (2024–2025). For the 2025 edition, unveiled on Monday, November 3, six Paris Saint-Germain players were among the nominees: Achraf Hakimi (26, right-back), Nuno Mendes (23, left-back), Marquinhos (31, central defender and captain), João Neves (21, midfielder), Vitinha (25, midfielder), and Ousmane Dembélé (26, forward).
Ultimately, four PSG players made it into the final Team of the Year.
As always with these kinds of votes, there’s plenty of room for debate. Many expected to see even more PSG players included among the nominees or final selections. But this award remains symbolic and subjective, as each voter applies their own footballing perspective and criteria.
In any case, Hakimi, Mendes, Vitinha, and Dembélé fully deserve their spots after delivering an outstanding season.
