On Wednesday evening, Paris Saint-Germain drew 1-1 against Lorient in Matchday 10 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season at the Stade du Moustoir. Here are the highs and lows of PSG’s performance.
Highs –
João Neves returns
The 21-year-old midfielder, sidelined for several weeks with an injury, finally returned to action, coming on at halftime. While his performance wasn’t particularly outstanding, it was a pleasure to see him back, and we expect him to improve as the season progresses.
Lucas Beraldo
Often criticized for his inconsistency, the 21-year-old defender was very solid in his tackles and clean in his distribution. That’s always a positive sign.
Lows –
Désiré Doué’s latest injury
Already sidelined for about a month (from September to October), Désiré Doué is injured again. The 20-year-old midfielder/forward appeared to be in considerable pain, suggesting a serious muscle problem. This is a major blow for him and for PSG.
A very lackluster first half.
Lorient were very defensive, which didn’t help to create an exciting match. But PSG also lacked precision, dynamism, and perhaps a bit of audacity. Lorient didn’t really have the tools to shine against PSG’s pressing game. This resulted in a very dull first half. Fortunately, the second half was a bit more lively.
