On Wednesday, the women’s teams of Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United faced off at Old Trafford in Matchday 3 of the 2025-2026 Women’s Champions League. After the 2-1 defeat, coach Paulo César spoke to PSG TV.
Paulo César: “I’m proud of my players.”
Any positives despite the defeat?
Yes, there are positives. Again, we’ll talk about the number of chances we created, the number of shots we took, and our possession. But, ultimately, we know that at the highest level, it’s the result that counts. We’ll be judged on our result.
Paulo César: “I can’t give up, the girls can’t give up.”
But, I think we played a fairly positive match. There were ups and downs. It’s not easy to play here against a team with experience. I’m proud of my players. That’s what matters. Today, we showed a good side of ourselves. But all my players are aware that the result will count later on. And we’re in the process of rebuilding the team. We have to keep working hard.
I can’t give up, and the girls can’t give up. We’re going to stay positive, even though we know what could happen next. Three Champions League matches without a win, even if you put in good performances, in the end, it’s the victory that counts.
