This Thursday, the women’s teams of Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich will face off at the Parc des Princes at 9 p.m CET. for Matchday 4 of the 2025-2026 Women’s Champions League. PSG defender Elisa De Almeida (27 years old) discussed the match at a press conference.
De Almeida: “We came away from the matches against Real Madrid and Manchester United with our heads held high.”
“Everyone knows: the Champions League and league matches are not the same. We’re missing a result, but we came away from the matches against Real Madrid and Manchester United with our heads held high, despite some frustrating performances. We certainly deserved better given how the matches unfolded. PSG is at the right level this year.
The Parc des Princes?
Of course, there’s a bit of excitement. It’s been a while since we played there, and we’re all eager to get back on the pitch.” It’s a legendary stadium, and we’re just so excited to be there. (…) We’ll see where we stand at the end,” remarks reported by Le Parisien.
The performance was promising, but the results weren’t there. It’s bound to be frustrating. Especially since it’s not just down to luck; the Parisian women also bear some responsibility. They need to turn things around. Of course, that’s easier said than done. The opponent will be top-level once again.
But at least PSG can take some encouraging signs from this. That shouldn’t be forgotten. Let’s hope that this time Paris can overcome the crucial “details” of top-level competition.
