Lucas Beraldo, a 22-year-old Brazilian defender, has carved out a place for himself, but hasn’t quite established himself as a reliable starter on big nights since joining Paris Saint-Germain in January 2024 (contract until 2028). TV Espirito de Perco, through its journalist Diego Firmino, reports that intermediaries have offered the player to Palmeiras and Flamengo for a possible return to Brazil.
“The name of Lucas Beraldo, formerly of São Paulo and currently at PSG, has been passed on to Palmeiras by intermediaries.
Palmeiras likes the player but has not yet followed up.
His name has also been offered to Flamengo.”
Nothing is impossible. Beraldo distinguished himself in Brazil, and a return to his native country isn’t unreasonable in order to get as much playing time as possible. He could be of interest to these clubs, perhaps with a low-cost reinforcement (a loan?). However, there’s nothing concrete yet. So, we can only remain very cautious.
The media continues to fuel the rumor of a departure, but the player recently and very clearly denied this possibility. It’s also important to remember that a player doesn’t necessarily play all the time. He can still develop and appreciate being part of a major project. Beraldo is far from being forgotten by coach Luis Enrique, and PSG’s squad isn’t deep. A departure is far from a foregone conclusion.”
