Luis Campos, the sporting advisor for Paris Saint-Germain, spoke at the Golden Boy 2025 award ceremony (won by Désiré Doué). It was an opportunity to celebrate PSG’s progress and look ahead to the future.
Campos: “The hardest part is maintaining this momentum, but we’re ready.”
“The hardest part is maintaining this momentum, but we’re ready. I’m very happy, I thank my family and everyone who has worked with me. Winning this award in a footballing nation like Italy is very important.
The club has transformed its project thanks to the president’s confidence, we’ve found an incredible coach, and we have the ability to build a good team, a serious group that embodies the harmony of football.”
PSG, president, staff, and players have repeatedly stated since May 31st: the hardest part has begun. Yet, winning that first Champions League title was a long battle, marked by setbacks, hard work, and impressive efforts. But staying at the top is a dauntingly difficult task.
Paris is now under pressure, as evidenced in some matches by the particular determination of their opponents. There’s also a new kind of pressure to manage. And this year, there hasn’t been enough time for a proper preseason. This unique challenge must be addressed.
But Campos is confident. Which seems logical. The project is built on solid and healthy foundations. The squad is designed for the future, and there should be room for reinforcements. The key is to maintain this level of focus, because the competition is fierce every season.
