Having been sidelined again since October 29th and a match in Lorient, after already missing several weeks, Désiré Doué could return a little sooner than expected. Le Parisien reported on Tuesday this hope for the 20-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder/forward.
“A wave of optimism at the Campus.”
“While his injury initially raised fears of the worst for the former Rennes player, he seems to be recovering faster than anticipated. Initial estimates didn’t predict a return to competition before 2026. However, Doué now appears to be on track for a comeback before the end of 2025.
Neither the player nor the club, of course, intends to rush things. But the striker’s feelings, which should allow him to quickly resume training on the pitch, are creating a wave of optimism at the Campus.”
We remain cautious; we’ve seen enough media outlets misjudge the timing of injury or return dates. They rarely have all the media outlets at their disposal, and the exact date depends on how the players feel. And everyone doesn’t react in exactly the same way at the same time.
However, Doué could very well play again before 2026. It would be a long absence, and seeing him return sooner is conceivable. But be warned, it’s not a given. He first needs to rejoin the group in training and then feel fully fit. Perhaps then he’ll be tempted to use the winter break to prepare.”
