Paris Saint-Germain travelled this Wednesday to face Athletic Bilbao and conceded a draw 0–0 for Matchday 6 of the Champions League group stage. After the game, PSG’s 23-year-old left-back Nuno Mendes spoke to PSG TV.
Nuno Mendes: “We were good in terms of attitude and aggressiveness.”
“It was a good match, with intensity. We didn’t manage to score even though we created many chances. I think we were good in terms of attitude and aggressiveness. I think we were solid in those aspects, but after that you still need to put the ball in the net — and we weren’t able to do that today.
We still have two games left, Sporting and Newcastle. But before that we have a league match, our Intercontinental Cup final… We’re focused on our next match against Metz, that’s our objective.”
Overall, PSG’s performance was good, as they dominated the game and created several chances, but unfortunately couldn’t finish them. Three important points slipped away this Wednesday. PSG wants to secure a top-8 finish, and they still have two matches left to achieve that.
The break in between will also do a lot of good and could change everything. The Parisian squad needs rest after this record-breaking year, and it will also allow Luis Enrique to finally recover a full squad to reach the first objectives of 2026.
