As part of Matchday 16 of Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain travelled this Saturday to face FC Metz and won 2-3. After the match, 18-year-old PSG forward Quentin Ndjantou spoke to PSG TV about scoring his first professional goal.
Ndjantou: “Today we showed character.”
My first professional goal?
“It’s a huge source of pride. I’m very happy to have scored this goal. I want to thank my teammates, including Ibrahim Mbaye for the assist. Today I’m really happy — we won the match, and there’s nothing better than that.”
Ibrahim’s assist?
“He returned the favor well. I’m very happy with his performance, with my own, and with the team performance. Today, we showed character despite the many attacks from this Metz side. We were very good and very strong together. It was a collective victory.”
It was obviously a memorable moment for young Ndjantou, who managed to score his first professional goal. A crucial action that also allowed PSG to take all three points this Saturday — an ideal result to close out the first half of the Ligue 1 season.
However, there is still no time to relax for the Parisians. This Wednesday, they will face Flamengo in the Intercontinental Cup, with the chance to almost wrap up this crazy 2025 with another major trophy. After that, there will still be the Coupe de France Round of 64 next Saturday against Vendée Fontenay. One more week of effort remains before a bit of rest.
