Stéphane Gilli, coach of Paris FC, spoke to Le Parisien about drawing Paris Saint-Germain for the Round of 32 of the 2025-2026 Coupe de France on the weekend of Saturday, January 10th, the day after their scheduled Ligue 1 match against PSG on Matchday 17 (January 4th).
“We’re going to play PSG twice in a row, and at the Parc des Princes in the Cup… So, it’s not the best draw, not by a long shot, but we’ll do everything we can to advance.”
It’s safe to assume that Paris FC isn’t thrilled to be playing PSG in this competition. They always want to go as far as possible, and this isn’t the best option. That much is clear. It will be an intense and difficult week, especially with the Ligue 1 match the weekend before.
However, there’s no question of giving up. Paris FC has what it takes and will give everything to qualify. It will be a great Parisian derby, even if it’s a bit of a shame to have it twice in such a short period. A slight advantage for Paris FC: PSG has to play the Trophée des Champions on January 8th against Olympique de Marseille in Kuwait. A week full of excitement for coach Luis Enrique’s team.
