This Sunday, Paris Saint-Germain (2nd) will face Paris FC (14th) at the Parc des Princes as part of Matchday 17 of the 2025–2026 Ligue 1 season (kick-off at 8:45 p.m., broadcast on Ligue1+). On Tuesday, Le Parisien provided an update on PSG’s squad following today’s collective training session, which marked the return from the winter break.
As expected, goalkeeper Matvey Safonov (left hand) and forward Kang-in Lee (left thigh) did not take part in the group session and will still need to wait before returning to the pitches at the PSG Campus.
Both players are continuing their recovery from injuries sustained during the Intercontinental Cup final and are following their rehabilitation protocols, which are progressing normally. Quentin Ndjantou, who suffered a hamstring injury against Vendée Fontenay and is expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks, also remained away from the group.
In addition to these three injuries, and without any unpleasant surprises, there are also the expected absences of Achraf Hakimi (27-year-old Moroccan right-back) and Ibrahim Mbaye (17-year-old Senegalese forward), who are currently competing in the Africa Cup of Nations. It may therefore take some more time before PSG can count on a fully fit squad.
That said, Lee and Safonov could return relatively soon, while Hakimi and Mbaye will be available once their international commitments are over. The hope now is to avoid any further setbacks, which would help PSG continue to build momentum during a busy and crucial period of the season.
