This Saturday, Olympique de Marseille hosted RC Lens at the Stade Vélodrome in the clash of the 19th round of Ligue 1 2025-2026. Marseille dominated both the game and the scoreline to secure a 3-1 victory. A result that also pleased Paris Saint-Germain, despite their rivalry with OM.

Indeed, this victory for Marseille, following PSG’s 1-0 win in Auxerre on Friday, allows the Parisians to take the lead in Ligue 1 after Lens had enjoyed a long winning streak. It’s certainly a welcome boost to be back at the top, a position they will now have to defend well.
Lens, however, has hit a rough patch, but could very well bounce back. Marseille are seven points behind, but are on a good run of form and are further strengthening their squad during the winter transfer window. We’ll have time to assess the situation on February 8th, shortly after the transfer window closes, during the Classico at the Parc des Princes (Matchday 21). This is a very important match, for which the Collectif Ultras Paris have been campaigning for the presence of Marseille supporters.
