This Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain will be at the Parc des Princes to face Newcastle (kick-off at 9 pm, CET) in Matchday 8 of the 2025-2026 Champions League. On the eve of this match, L’Equipe is already suggesting likely starting lineups for coach Luis Enrique.
Barcola or Doué – Dembélé – Kvaratskhelia
Mayulu – Vitinha – Zaïre-Emery
Mendes-Pacho – Marquinhos – Hakimi or Zabarnyi

Achraf Hakimi (27-year-old right-back) could well return to the starting lineup, but this is not yet certain. It depends in particular on today’s training session at 11 am. Perhaps PSG will release a medical update, or coach Luis Enrique will provide some information in the 1 pm press conference. But the mystery could also remain. It’s difficult, then, to be certain.
The same applies to the attack, where competition is fierce, especially among four players. It’s somewhat surprising to see Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (24 years old) automatically starting, as it didn’t seem so certain after recent matches. Ousmane Dembélé (28 years old) is expected to start, but there’s more doubt about the rest. Especially since everyone’s position can change quickly.
In midfield, João Neves (21 years old) is nearing his return. A starting place isn’t out of the question given his short absence and several days of training. We’ll have to wait for confirmation.
