The 2024 summer mercato is over, but the rumors surrounding Paris Saint-Germain continue. Today, PSG Inside Actus assures us that Ousmane Diomande, the 20-year-old (1m90) Ivory Coast defender under contract until 2027 with Sporting Portugal, is a concrete target for this winter.
“Negotiations between PSG and Sporting will begin very soon.”
“According to sources close to the matter, Paris Saint-Germain are close to negotiating the signature of young Ivorian central defender Ousmane Diomande, currently with Sporting Club Portugal. This transfer could be one of the key moves of the upcoming winter mercato.
Negotiations between PSG and Sporting are due to begin shortly, and an initial offer could be estimated at around 30 million euros, a sum considered reasonable for a player of his calibre and potential, even if Sporting would like 45 million. “
Nothing impossible, at least because Diomande is part of the project in place since the summer of 2023, with the recruitment of young talent to be nurtured within the team.
The Ivorian has shown great promise at Sporting and could make his mark at PSG as he continues to progress. And all this with a defense where the future is to be prepared behind Marquinhos (30) in particular.
But be warned, there’s nothing concrete yet, and many other possibilities still exist. Both for PSG and for the player, not forgetting that Sporting could be tough to negotiate with.
