On Sunday at the Stade de la Meinau, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Strasbourg 2-1 in Matchday 20 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season. As we now do after every match, we asked our readers to vote for the best PSG player of the game. Matvey Safonov (26-year-old goalkeeper) won.

A great victory for Safonov, especially considering he’s competing with Lucas Chevalier (24). Coach Luis Enrique has recently been giving him a chance, and he justified his confidence with a solid performance. His footwork was clean, his positioning was composed, he made several saves, and he even saved a penalty. He did concede a goal, but it wasn’t his fault. This is encouraging for the future; having more consistency in goal would be a welcome boost.
Behind him in this vote are the team’s mainstays from Sunday, and they were difficult to separate. Warren Zaïre-Emery (19-year-old midfielder) and Nuno Mendes (23-year-old left-back) edged out Willian Pacho (24-year-old defender) thanks to their decisive contributions. But all of them made a positive impact. Zaïre-Emery even rediscovered his attacking presence, which is very encouraging. Mendes made some very effective runs forward, while Pacho effectively contained Joaquin Panichelli (23-year-old striker). We would still like to see the attacking players featured more prominently in the match highlights.
Thank you for your votes. As a reminder, the top three players from each match are then used to determine the Player of the Month.
