Dro Fernandez, the 18-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, stopped in the mixed zone after the 5-0 victory against Olympique de Marseille this Sunday at the Parc des Princes in Matchday 21 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season, which was also his first match in Paris.
Dro: “I’m very, very happy.”
How did this first appearance with PSG go?
I’m so incredibly happy. My teammates have helped me a lot since day one. I felt very comfortable. I thank them, as well as the fans, for their support.
What did you think of the atmosphere at the Parc des Princes?
Incredible. I really wanted to come here and experience it. I wasn’t disappointed.
It was a special scenario for a first match…
Yes, it was a great match. With a spectacular victory, so I’m very happy.
Dro: “It’s like I’ve been here since the beginning of the season.”
Did you expect to play so soon?
I came here to play, I’m taking the minutes I’m given, but I’m not in a rush. When the minutes come, they’ll come. I’m going to keep working to make sure it continues like this.
How were your first few days after signing?
Everything was very easy, honestly. Since I arrived, it’s like I’ve been here since the start of the season. I have to thank everyone for this welcome.
What did you think of the level of the match against Marseille?
We knew Marseille is a very difficult team, but if we played well, they would have a hard time bothering us in our own half. We’re very happy.
Dro: “There are difficult moments”
Is it easy to adapt to this team?
Well, it’s another country, I’m still young. There are difficult moments, but everyone at the club gave me a great welcome and made sure I settled in easily. I received a spectacular welcome.
Have you already noticed any differences between La Liga and Ligue 1?
No, they’re both great leagues, but well, for the moment I’ve only played a few minutes here, so not really.
Dro: “That’s one of the reasons I signed here.”
Is it special to start your career here against Marseille?
Yes, it was a very special match. I hope to be here for many years and have a long career here.
What do you think of Luis Enrique?
He’s an incredible coach. Everyone told me he’s an incredible coach, and that’s one of the reasons I signed here. He shows it in every match; he does everything to integrate young players.
What were your motivations for signing with PSG?
I want to continue to grow and accumulate playing time. But I’m not in a rush. If I get playing time, great, if not, I’ll keep working. I think Paris is the best place for me, that’s why I’m here.
