This Friday, as part of Matchday 22 of Ligue 1 2025-2026, Paris Saint-Germain faced Rennes at Roazhon Park. Rennes coach Sébastien Tambouret spoke to Ligue1+ after PSG’s 3-1 defeat.
Tambouret: “I saw energy, enjoyment.”
You’re 5th, that’s great!
That’s the advantage of playing before the others.
Not more of an explosion of joy?
Yes, don’t worry, my head is boiling. I’m eager to go and enjoy it with my family.
Do you realize what you’ve done?
It concludes a great week and, above all, it confirms that we’ve been respecting what we’ve discussed all week. I saw energy, enjoyment, and guys who really wanted to show who they truly were.
Tambouret: “We knew we could trouble any team, so we had to play.”
You seem emotional.
These kinds of matches aren’t easy. To achieve something, to make an impact and hold your own against a team like PSG, it takes a lot of energy.
What did you ask of them tonight?
It’s not just tonight; it’s been like this since I arrived. There was a crucial match against PSG, nothing to lose, and only fantastic opportunities to show who we were, that we were capable of running. We knew that at home we wouldn’t be alone, and we knew we could trouble any team, so we had to play.
