Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior, 41, hinted at a possible comeback ahead of the Champions League round of 16 second leg against Paris Saint-Germain. In his press conference discussing the match and Filip Jorgensen, the English coach expressed his optimism, though he couldn’t hide the true magnitude of the challenge facing the London side.

Rosenior: “I’ve seen teams come back from three goals down”

“I’ve seen teams come back from three goals down many times in the Champions League,” the British manager asserted. “We still have a good chance if we score the first goal next week, after this important match tomorrow.”

On Jorgensen

“His performance against Paris was very good for 75 minutes, but then he made a mistake,” he analyzed. “Rob Sanchez is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League, but I have to make decisions in every match.” “

Rosenior is right to keep his team under pressure: at this level, showing faith is almost a job requirement. But his words don’t tell the whole story. Overcoming a three-goal deficit against PSG isn’t just about scoring quickly; it also requires near-perfect control over the long haul. Chelsea will have to attack, take risks, stretch their defensive line, and therefore expose more space.

That’s where the problem becomes complicated. Because while the Blues need an attacking game, Paris loves to punish a team that leaves itself open, especially with speed and players capable of turning a game around in seconds. In theory, the outcome remains open. In practice, it forces Chelsea to walk a very dangerous tightrope.

The comment about Jorgensen also confirms another point: Chelsea is approaching the game with measured certainty, even in a key position. And in a match where everything can hinge on a single mistake, that’s not exactly the most reassuring detail.”
