This Thursday, L’Equipe focused heavily on football salaries. Seventeen Paris Saint-Germain players were also featured in the top 30 highest-paid players in Ligue 1. Among coaches, PSG’s Luis Enrique tops the list, earning roughly three times the salary of second-placed Paulo Fonseca (Olympique Lyonnais).

Given his stature, including a successful stint at FC Barcelona (winning the Champions League) and years managing the Spanish national team before his success at PSG since arriving in 2023, it’s not surprising to see Luis Enrique at the top of this ranking. Even so, the gap is particularly significant.
This also relates to club budgets, although that’s not the whole story. For example, Nice, Nantes, and Paris FC are ranked higher in terms of points total, while RC Lens is much lower. This is also reflected in player salaries, further highlighting the quality of Lens’s work.
