On Wednesday at the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Liverpool 2-0 in the first leg of their 2025-2026 Champions League quarter-final (the second leg is on April 14). As we now do after every match, we asked our readers to vote for the best PSG player of the game. Warren Zaïre-Emery (20-year-old midfielder) won.

A great victory for the Parisian youth academy graduate, a far cry from his recent struggles and the doubts many had raised. Zaïre-Emery never gave up and is back at his best. He has even improved his ball control.
However, it’s worth noting that such a victory wasn’t necessarily expected. Several other PSG players were impressive in this match, contributing to a strong team performance. Here, there were no votes for João Neves (21-year-old midfielder), Nuno Mendes (23-year-old left-back), or Willian Pacho (24-year-old defender), among others. Vitinha (26-year-old midfielder), the midfield maestro, only received 3%.
This also highlights the exceptional performances of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (25-year-old forward) and Achraf Hakimi (27-year-old right-back). The former was as combative as he was creative, scoring a superb goal, while the latter dominated defensively and was a formidable free-roaming threat for Liverpool.
Thank you for your votes. As a reminder, the top three players from each match are then used to determine the Player of the Month.
