Liverpool are Paris Saint-Germain’s opponents in the Champions League quarter-finals (PSG won the first leg 2-0, with the return leg this Tuesday, April 14th), so we’ll be keeping a close eye on their performances until the second leg. This Saturday, the Reds faced Fulham in the Premier League. They managed to secure a 2-0 victory.
Liverpool’s starting lineup:
Gakpo
Ngumoah – Wirtz – Salah
Jones – Szoboszlai
Robertson – Van Dijk – Konaté – Frimpong
Mamardashvili
This is a crucial victory in the race for Champions League qualification and a real morale booster after a string of defeats. It’s a way to regain confidence before the big challenge: overturning PSG’s lead.
Be warned, the task ahead is more difficult, and not all the signs are positive with this far from impressive victory (15 shots apiece and 53% possession for Liverpool). But we also know that the Champions League is a different beast; the main thing was to clear our heads and keep progressing in the league.
