Presnel Kimpembe, the 29-year-old defender who suffered a serious Achilles heel injury and is now close to a return to the pitch, spoke to Canal Football Club. He spoke about the competition, but also took the opportunity to send out a message, explaining that he was coming back with great desire, great strength and above all that when he does return, he will be a new person. On the subject of PSG, he declared his love for the club, showing that he intends to stick by it through thick and thin.
“I never thought I’d be away from the pitch for so long. We have the opportunity to do something great. If you don’t believe in it, get off the train, others will come along.
Kimpembe “ In every team there are great players and competition”.
Concurrence
“In every team there are great players and competition. I knew it when I arrived, and I still know it today. When I started out, there were some of the greats. I played with Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, David Luiz, Zoumana Camara, Abdou Diallo…”
Kimpembe has always faced stiff competition. His injury kept him off the pitch, but it also considerably reshuffled the cards. Two years ago, Kimpembe was an indisputable starter at PSG, especially for the staff in place.
Today, water has flowed under the bridge, 23-year-old Willian Pacho seems to be blossoming and the young guard, Lucas Beraldo, is getting closer. There’s also Lucas Hernandez, his competitor in the French national team, but the latter is also going through a period of injury. No one has taken the job, nor is there any ambition to close the doors on him.
He’s seen as a great player, with a wealth of experience. While we have our doubts about a possible return to the highest level, we have no doubt that he’ll give it his all to give himself a chance to forget everything he’s been through.
