This Sunday, the women’s teams of Paris Saint-Germain and OL Lyon will face off at the Stade du Hainaut (broadcast on Canal+360) at 3:30 PM CET in the final of the 2025-2026 Women’s French Cup. PSG full-back Olga Carmona (25 years old) spoke about the match to PSG TV.
Carmona: “We’re coming in with a lot of confidence and I think the team is ready for this final.”
The team’s mindset
“I think the team is coming in with a lot of confidence. We’re finishing the season in the best possible way. We’ve won a lot of matches and, despite the recent defeat against Lyon, we now have another opportunity to play them. We’re coming in with a lot of confidence and I think the team is ready for this final.”
The matches against OL Lyon
“In recent matches against Lyon, the difference has been made by finishing in front of goal.” These are always very open matches, with chances for both sides, but they’ve been more clinical than we have. This final will come down to the details. We’ll need to be very solid defensively, but also much more efficient offensively when we get our opportunities.
Carmona: “Stay calm and focused.”
The Final
“We’re aware of the importance of this final and what a title would mean for the club. But we also have to approach it like any other match, to stay calm and focused. Of course, deep down, we all know what this match means.”
“Of course, PSG is going into this final with the intention of winning it. It’s unthinkable to have any other idea, and there’s no point in being afraid of the opponent. Even though we have to remain fearful, and there’s bound to be some apprehension. Lyon has a very good team, which has beaten Paris every time this season.” But there have been some close matches. The Parisians will have their say.
There’s no other option than to prepare as best as possible and take to the pitch with maximum determination. Winning the Coupe de France would be a huge boost in this demanding season, with the playoffs to follow for the title. PSG faces Paris FC in the semi-final, while Lyon takes on Nantes in the other semi-final.
