Noham Kamara, the 19-year-old defender who was under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until 2028 and had been on loan at Olympique Lyonnais since this winter, has been permanently transferred to the Rhône club after the activation of his purchase option. PSG officially announced the move on Wednesday.
“A product of the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy and on loan at Olympique Lyonnais since last February, Noham Kamara has signed permanently with the Rhône club. The 19-year-old Parisian native made three professional appearances for the Rouge & Bleu. The capital club wishes him all the best for the future of his career.”
As a reminder, according to media reports, Kamara’s transfer is finalized for €4.1 million, with a possible bonus of an additional €2 million. Furthermore, and this is significant, PSG will receive 20% of any future transfer fee should he leave Lyon.
The deal was finalized discreetly, as there had been no rumors in recent weeks. We can only hope that Kamara will justify Lyon’s confidence, as they have exercised their purchase option despite the Parisian youth player’s rather lengthy injury. We would have loved to see him develop in Paris; this career choice is perfectly understandable.
