Pierre Mounguengue, an 18-year-old forward developed at Paris Saint-Germain, is set to sign his first professional contract this summer. It is a bold move that has sparked rumors, with a departure from PSG now taking shape. Onze Mondial has now confirmed the move to Dynamo Kyiv, which was first reported earlier this Wednesday by Djamel.
The forward has chosen to join Dynamo Kyiv for the next three seasons. In recent months, the Évry-Courcouronnes native had attracted interest from several European clubs. Strasbourg was among the suitors, having made multiple offers but intending to send him out on loan. PSG also offered him a professional contract, but a lack of clarity regarding his future prospects and development failed to convince Mounguengue to stay at his formative club.
For Mounguengue, the Ukrainian adventure begins on July 9 with a Europa League qualifying round match against Cluj.
It would be surprising for various media outlets to align so quickly by mere coincidence—though one always remains wary during transfer windows, when speculation can sometimes run wild. However, the Mounguengue story isn’t generating massive hype, suggesting the reports likely rest on solid ground. There is a hint of disappointment, as we would have loved to see this PSG academy product develop at the club; yet, it is understandable given the lack of available first-team spots and the limited prospect of playing anytime soon.
