Sakina Karchaoui, the 30-year-old Paris Saint-Germain captain and left-back/midfielder, spoke to PSG TV ahead of the match against Eintracht Frankfurt this Wednesday at 7:00 PM (CET) at the Stade am Brentanobad. The game is the first leg of the 2026–2027 Women’s Champions League preliminary round (with the return leg on September 2).
Karchaoui: “We are equipped and ready for the battle.”
“It’s a crucial fixture—a tough match against a good team—but we are equipped and ready for the battle. Getting back into the Champions League is a genuine goal; we need to show our best side and prove that we can compete with Europe’s top teams.”
Advancing in the Champions League is never easy, of course. Frankfurt will fight hard for their spot, so a top-level performance will be required to gain the upper hand. The Parisian squad faces a major challenge, but they possess the qualities needed to rise to the occasion.
It is up to the coaching staff and the players to find the right formula for a great performance. Karchaoui will undoubtedly look to lead her teammates; the key will be setting aside the pressure so they can play to their full potential.
