On Tuesday at the Allianz Arena, Paris Saint-Germain beat Bayern Munich 1-0 on Matchday 5 of the Champions League 2024-2025. We then asked our readers, as they do after every match from now on, to vote for the best Parisian of the match. João Neves (20-year-old midfielder) won the vote.
An understandable success, Neves was again very active defensively and tried to create offensively. We can’t say he was particularly brilliant, but no Parisian was really “superior”. Something was missing if we were not to lose, or even win.
At least, we can see that several players were up to the task, with competition rarely so tight. The collective was rather interesting, but it’s clear that the attacking sector wasn’t sharp enough: Barcola and Dembélé received 0 votes. The 14% for Safonov may come as a surprise, despite his error in conceding the goal.
