Yan Diomande, the 19-year-old RB Leipzig right-winger, is reportedly being targeted by Paris Saint-Germain amidst various transfer market rumors. Under contract until 2030, the Ivorian international has also reportedly been sounded out by Arsenal, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
“Arsenal made an enquiry for Yan Diomande, as reported yesterday on talkSPORT. Purely exploratory at this stage. PSG continue to work on a deal, while Leipzig hope Diomande signs a new contract and/or stays for at least an extra season.
Diomande has made it clear he favours PSG (terms on a five-year contract are in place) as well as a right-sided role. Player equally capable of both sides, but favours more minutes on the right.”
This is a potentially interesting option for PSG, though nothing concrete has materialized yet. While Diomande is a perfect fit for the new Parisian project, RB Leipzig will not let him go easily. For their part, the Parisian leadership refuses to overpay for a player, regardless of whether he is viewed as a future football superstar.
Other avenues may exist for all parties involved; Arsenal, for instance, could well be tempted by this dynamic player. We must now wait to see how discussions unfold and, above all, what the intentions of both the player and the German club are.
