Mika Godts—a 21-year-old forward (primarily a left winger) for Ajax Amsterdam (under contract until 2029) and Belgium, who has enjoyed an excellent season—has recently been linked to Paris Saint-Germain, with his agent confirming the Belgian international’s desire for the move. Djamel maintains that while it is too early to speak of a done deal, there are certainly grounds for optimism.
“At this stage, it is a bit presumptuous to say that, given that there is no agreement between Ajax and PSG yet.
However, there is still optimism internally regarding this matter—both on PSG’s side and on the player’s side.”
The prospect of a transfer is very real, and negotiations are underway; indeed, Godts appeared to believe that yesterday’s match might be his last for Ajax Amsterdam (he even scored from the penalty spot). Of course, we know that the transfer market is only certain once concrete agreements are in place. Nothing is guaranteed until the deal is signed.
Negotiations could stall, given that PSG is not aggressively pushing to sign the player—though there is hope that the two clubs will reach a compromise. The fee would likely be around €50 million. Ideally, talks will progress quickly so that Paris can assemble a complete squad sooner rather than later.
