As the 2024-2025 winter mercato draws ever closer (January), the rumors surrounding Paris Saint-Germain are piling up. Today, PSG Inside Actus reports that PSG is interested in Omar Marmoush, the 25-year-old striker from Eintracht Frankfurt (contract until 2027) and Egypt, who has made an exceptional start to the season.
Big clubs mentioned.
“Manchester United sent scouts to Denmark on Thursday evening to observe Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush. Tottenham, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have also sent scouts.
Liverpool are also interested in Mohamed Salah’s international teammate, who was the subject of two rejected bids from Nottingham Forest this summer.
Frankfurt are hoping he will stay until at least the end of the season. Marmoush’s market value has risen considerably over the last 12 months, and the German club could ask for close to €70 million to complete a sale.”
We’re wary, there’s nothing concrete yet, and it could well be that PSG won’t make an offer. Given Marmoush’s string of goals and assists this season (he’s competing with Harry Kane in both areas in the Bundesliga), rumours are to be expected.
But beware, the media tend to make a lot out of very little. Many players are rumoured to be in PSG’s sights, but there won’t be an attempt for each one, let alone a breakthrough. We’ll have to wait for more certainty.
Marmoush’s season to date has not been anything like his current one. Watch out for a rather special year that is not confirmed, as we are experiencing with Randal Kolo Muani (who also arrived from Frankfurt).
