Michel Platini, a French football legend and three-time Ballon d’Or winner (1983–1985), appeared as a guest on Canal Football Club this Sunday. He spoke specifically about Paris Saint-Germain and their chances of winning the Champions League for the third consecutive year.
Platini: “They play wonderful football”
“A third star for PSG? Yes, because they are the favorites; they’ve been playing wonderful football for the past two years—hats off to Paris Saint-Germain.”
PSG naturally enters the competition once again as the heavy favorite. However, repeating the feat of back-to-back titles will be extremely difficult. The Parisian players are determined to maintain their dominance and will likely give their all to achieve the best possible run on the European stage. The players believe in it, as do the fans, and under these circumstances, anything is possible.
That said, it is a long journey that requires careful management. There are also uncontrollable factors that can impact the course of a season. Luis Enrique and his squad will do everything in their power to reach the summit once again. Yet, one season’s performance does not dictate the next. They will have to roll up their sleeves and get to work all over again to pull off another remarkable feat.
