As happens after every round of matches, L’Équipe has named its Team of the Week for Matchday 2 of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season, which took place this weekend. Following their 2-2 draw against Lille at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Paris Saint-Germain saw none of their players selected.

It comes as no surprise; PSG failed to impress on Friday, save for the admirable resilience shown in snatching a draw during the final minutes. Expectations for the Parisians are high, and greater consistency will be required—not least to secure victories.
However, one might have made a case for Vitinha’s inclusion in the Team of the Week. The 26-year-old midfielder struggled somewhat in the first half—it is clear that his partnership with Lucas Beraldo (22) still needs work—but he stepped up his game and dominated the second half. He went on to score a superb goal and deliver the decisive cross—capping off a fine sequence of play—that led to the equalizer.
That said, it is understandable that more consistent performances were prioritized. There is competition in Ligue 1, and that is an excellent thing.
